Very common problem in flashguns. The soldering on the "fire wire" is crap and tears very easily. I've had this happen on a couple myself. You could buy another, or re-solder the "fire wire" back in. It's awkward and takes some skills to get back in the flashgun without breaking again. My opinion: former rather than latter.
